Promised Land

Although Palestine has a rather arid climate, the so called land flowing with milk & honey was promised by Yahweh to the Jews & supposedly conquered under the leadership of Joshua. John the Baptist

As a cleansing rite, John baptised Jesus, an act inspiring some Christians as follows:

• In his First Corinthian Epistle, Paul compared it with the Exodus: Mozes & his people crossing יַם-סוּף meant purification
• According to apostle Simon, it's similar to the Deluge: Noah & his family were purified after floating on the water
